Description
RTM 2027
Ten distances. Personal targets. One year.
Ten Race Weekends. Three Flex Runs. One complete RTM year.
RTM 2027 is a worldwide running season built around ten different distances across the year.
Your first result establishes your starting level. After your first result, The Machine sets personalised targets that adapt as your results come in and your RTM Score develops.
This is not a one-off race. This is a year-long system.
Across ten RTM Race Weekends, runners around the world take on the same distance during the same weekend — wherever they are.
Can’t make every weekend? You don’t need to.
You have three Flex Runs to complete or re-run official distances outside their scheduled weekends, and you only need to complete 7 of the 10 distances to Beat The Machine 2027.
Choose the earned T-shirt tier and complete seven distances to unlock the official Beat The Machine 2027 finisher’s T-shirt.
The distance is shared. The target is yours.
112 entrants on the 2027 start line…

🗺️ The RTM 2027 Race Calendar
Every official RTM distance has its own worldwide Race Weekend.
Run the distance during its scheduled Friday–Sunday weekend and it does not use a Flex Run.
Need to complete it another time — or want another attempt outside its Race Weekend? Use one of your three Flex Runs.
| Race | Distance | Official RTM Race Weekend |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | 4K — Public Drop | 1–3 Jan |
| 02 | 1 Mile | 5–7 Feb |
| 03 | 5K | 5–7 Mar |
| 04 | 10K | 2–4 Apr |
| 05 | 6.66K | 7–9 May |
| 06 | 15K | 4–6 Jun |
| 07 | 5 Miles | 2–4 Jul |
| 08 | 50 Minutes — How Far Can You Go? | 6–8 Aug |
| 09 | 10 Miles | 3–5 Sep |
| 10 | Half Marathon | 1–3 Oct |
Race Weekends run from Friday to Sunday, wherever you are in the world.
Race the distance as many times as you like during the official weekend. Submit one result for that Race Weekend.
You can run on roads, trails, treadmill or track — or as part of another event.
No fixed route.
No mass start.
No medal merely for entering.
Just the distance, the weekend and your Machine target.
4K Public Drop
The opening 4K Race Weekend is also an RTM Public Drop.
Non-members can enter the 4K for free and join the worldwide Race Weekend without entering the complete RTM season.
Full RTM entrants take on the same 4K as part of their ten-distance year.
⚡ Three Flex Runs
Life does not always follow the race calendar.
Every RTM 2027 entrant gets three Flex Runs.
A Flex Run lets you complete or re-run one of the official RTM distances at another point during 2027, outside its scheduled Race Weekend.
Run during the official Race Weekend and you never use a Flex — even if you have already completed that distance before.
Race it more than once during the weekend if you want. You still submit one official result from that Race Weekend.
Submit an accepted result during 2027 outside that distance’s official Race Weekend and you use one Flex.
That means you can fit important races, holidays, work, illness and your own running plans around RTM without removing the shared rhythm of the season.
Use them early. Save them for later. Use all three chasing a result.
They are yours.
🤖 Your Personal Targets
RTM is not built around chasing your PB every time you run.
It is built around something more useful: a target based on what The Machine believes you should be capable of now.
Your first submitted result calibrates your starting level.
After your first result, The Machine sets personalised targets that adapt as your results come in. Your RTM Score develops across the season.
As your results change, your targets change.
Run well and The Machine responds.
Struggle and the system adjusts.
Every result helps shape what comes next.
You are not racing somebody else’s pace. You are racing what The Machine thinks you can do.
📊 RTM Score
Your RTM Score develops as results are submitted across the season.
It gives you a way to see how you are performing against The Machine across different distances — not simply how fast you are compared with everybody else.
The worldwide field still matters.
But the central opponent is personal.
Beat your target. Make The Machine reconsider.

🌍 Race Wherever You Are
RTM has no fixed start line.
Race from Dundee, Melbourne, London, New York or anywhere else you happen to be.
Choose your own:
- Route
- Surface
- Start time
- Location
- Who you run with
Run alone or with other people.
You can also use a result from an organised race that matches the official RTM distance.
If that race takes place during the distance’s official RTM Race Weekend, it counts as your Race Weekend result.
If it takes place outside that distance’s Race Weekend, submitting it uses one of your Flex Runs.
What connects the field is simple:
the same distance, during the same Race Weekend.
Different routes. Different weather. Different sides of the world.
Same Machine.
