Description

RTM 2027

Ten distances. Personal targets. One year.

Ten Race Weekends. Three Flex Runs. One complete RTM year.

RTM entry puts you on the start line for the complete Race The Machine 2027 season.

From January to October, runners around the world take on ten different distances across ten shared Race Weekends.

Your first result establishes your starting level. After that, The Machine sets personalised targets that adapt as your results come in and your RTM Score develops.

This is not a one-off race. This is a year-long system.

Can’t make every Race Weekend? You don’t need to.

You have three Flex Runs to complete or re-run official distances outside their scheduled weekends, and you need to complete 7 of the 10 distances to Beat The Machine 2027.

Choose whether you want an earned finisher reward when you join. Complete seven distances to unlock any reward included with your entry.

The distance is shared. The target is yours.

Membership, Payments & Cancellation

Annual Membership

Annual Entry renews once per year.

If you want to continue into the next RTM season, simply keep your membership active.

You can cancel at any time before your next annual renewal.

Cancel before renewal and you will not be charged for another year. There is no requirement to continue into the following year.

Monthly Membership

Monthly Membership lets you spread the cost rather than pay annually.

Your membership and monthly payments begin from the date you enter and continue each month until cancelled.

You can cancel future monthly payments at any time.

If you select an entry tier that include an earned reward, you must make 10 successful monthly payments as well as complete 7/10 races before that reward can be unlocked.

🗺️ The RTM 2027 Race Calendar

Every official RTM distance has its own worldwide Race Weekend.

Run the distance during its scheduled Friday–Sunday weekend and it does not use a Flex Run.

Need to complete it another time — or want to run it early, or have another attempt outside its Race Weekend? Use one of your three Flex Runs.

Race Distance Official RTM Race Weekend
01 4K — Drop 1–3 Jan
02 1 Mile 5–7 Feb
03 5K 5–7 Mar
04 10K 2–4 Apr
05 6.66K 7–9 May
06 15K 4–6 Jun
07 5 Miles 2–4 Jul
08 50 Minutes — How Far Can You Go? 6–8 Aug
09 10 Miles 3–5 Sep
10 Half Marathon 1–3 Oct

Race Weekends run from Friday to Sunday, wherever you are in the world.

Race the distance as many times as you like during the official weekend. Submit one result for that Race Weekend.

Run on roads, trails, treadmills or tracks — or use a performance from another event.

No fixed route.
No mass start.
No physical reward merely for entering.

Just the distance, the weekend and your personal target.

4K Public Drop

The opening 4K Race Weekend is also an RTM Drop.

Non-RTM 2027 entrants can enter the 4K for free and join the worldwide Race Weekend without entering the complete RTM season.

Full RTM entrants take on the same 4K as part of their ten-distance year.

⚡ Three Flex Runs

Life does not always follow the race calendar.

Every RTM 2027 entrant gets three Flex Runs.

A Flex Run lets you complete or re-run one of the official RTM distances at another point during 2027, outside its scheduled Race Weekend.

Run during the official Race Weekend and you never use a Flex.

Submit an accepted result during 2027 outside that distance’s official Race Weekend and you use one Flex.

That means you can fit important races, holidays, work, illness and your own running plans around RTM without removing the shared rhythm of the season.

Use them early. Save them for later. Use all three chasing a result.

They are yours.

🤖 Your Personal Targets

RTM is not built around chasing your PB every time you run.

It is built around something more useful: an achievable target based on what The Machine believes you should be capable of now.

Your first submitted result establishes your starting level.

After that, The Machine sets personalised targets that adapt as your results come in and your RTM Score develops.

As your results change, your targets change.

Run well and The Machine responds.

Have a difficult race and the system responds to that too.

Every result helps shape what comes next easier or harder.

You are not racing somebody else’s pace. You are racing what The Machine predicts you can do.

📊 RTM Score

Your RTM Score develops as results are submitted across the season.

It shows how you are performing against The Machine across different distances — not simply how fast you are compared with everybody else.

The worldwide field still matters.

But the central opponent is personal.

Race your target. Make The Machine reconsider.

🏆 Beat The Machine 2027

RTM recognises three levels of progress across the year:

  • 4 distances — RTM Verified
  • 7 distances — Beat The Machine 2027
  • 10 distances — Machine Accomplished 2027

RTM Verified — 4/10

Stay in the system long enough for The Machine to get to know you.

Beat The Machine — 7/10

Complete any seven official RTM distances and you have completed the central RTM mission.

Beat The Machine 2027.

If your entry includes an earned physical reward, completing seven — together with any applicable payment requirement — unlocks it.

Machine Accomplished — 10/10

Complete the entire ten-distance season.

Machine Accomplished 2027.

👕 Beat The Machine 2027 T-shirt

Choose the Earned Finisher’s T-shirt entry option when joining RTM 2027 and secure your official T-shirt as part of your membership.

Complete 7 of the 10 official distances and your T-shirt is unlocked for worldwide delivery.

Made from organic cotton, it’s designed as something you’ll actually want to wear away from running — not another technical race T-shirt for the drawer.

  • Unisex organic cotton
  • Choose red or black
  • Official Beat The Machine 2027 design
  • Free worldwide shipping once earned

Choose your T-shirt when you enter. Beat The Machine to earn it.

🏅 Official 2027 Finisher’s Medal

The official Beat The Machine 2027 Finisher’s Medal is an optional reward, purchased separately from your RTM entry.

You can reserve yours now, so it’s waiting to be unlocked when you complete the challenge.

Alternatively, you can wait until you’ve completed 7 official distances before deciding whether to purchase one.

  • Available to RTM 2027 entrants who complete 7/10
  • Purchased separately from either entry option
  • Reserve and pay now, or purchase after completing 7/10
  • Only released for fulfilment once you’ve earned Beat The Machine 2027 status

Reserve it now. Complete seven. Earn your medal.

⚡ Always earned, never given.

RTM isn’t a challenge where paying an entry fee automatically gets you a finisher’s reward.

Your T-shirt or medal is reserved when purchased, but only unlocked when you’ve completed the required seven official distances.

Seven distances. Beat The Machine. Earn your reward.

🌍 Race Wherever You Are

RTM has no fixed start line.

Race from Melbourne, Dundee, London, Toronto, New York, Johannesburg, Amsterdam or anywhere else you happen to be.

Choose your own:

  • Route
  • Surface
  • Start time
  • Location
  • Who you run with

You can also use a result from an organised race that matches the official RTM distance.

If that race takes place during the distance’s official RTM Race Weekend, it counts as your Race Weekend result.

If it takes place outside that distance’s Race Weekend, submitting it uses one of your Flex Runs.

What connects the field is simple:

The same distance, during the same Race Weekend.

Different routes. Different weather. Different parts of the world.

Same Machine.

⚙️ How It Works — Step by Step

1. Choose Your Membership

Choose annual or monthly payment, then decide whether you want entry only, or entry with the earned T-shirt.

Every option enters the same complete RTM 2027 season.

2. Race Your First Distance

Join an official RTM Race Weekend or use one of your Flex Runs.

3. Submit Your Result

Your opening performance establishes your starting level.

4. Receive Your Targets

After your first result, The Machine starts setting personalised targets based on what you have shown it.

5. Race Across the Season

A different RTM distance arrives on each official Race Weekend.

Make as many attempts as you like during the official weekend.

6. Use Your Flex Runs

You have three opportunities to complete or re-run official distances outside their scheduled weekends.

Each accepted off-calendar result uses one Flex Run.

7. Watch The Machine Respond

Submit each result.

Your RTM Score develops and the targets ahead adapt.

8. Complete Seven

Complete any seven official distances to:

Beat The Machine 2027.

If your membership includes an earned physical reward, completing seven and meeting any applicable payment requirement unlocks it.

9. Go For All Ten

Complete every official distance and become:

Machine Accomplished 2027.
